She dreams. In her dreams she is running, fleeing, being hunted. Her heart pounds as her feet slap on the ground. The pavement is harsh against that flesh, bits of glass and gravel digging into the soft skin between hardened pads. She's running, as quickly as she can, darting between people and buildings, turning around every five seconds to choose a different direction. In this dream reality is a distant concept, and so she does not question as the terrain changes under her frantic stride. Her escape turns from running to ducking and hiding, taking a moment's shelter behind that phone booth before bolting up into the old, dilapidated barn.
